Ceton brings multi-room video to PCs

The prevailing trend in whole-home video is distributing video to multiple TVs, but a Seattle startup has taken the multi-room video concept to PCs with the introduction of a software upgrade to its TV-on-PC cards. Ceton released a free new application that enables its InfiniTV 4 multi-tuner digital cable cards to distribute video to multiple PCs in a household.

Ceton Releases InfiniTV Network Tuner for the InfiniTV 4

Today, Ceton is making a few announcements worth taking note of. First off – Ceton has fulfilled the backorder of InfiniTV 4 TV tuner cards and is now making InfiniTV 4 TV tuner cards available from Amazon, in addition to its existing retailers. The next thing is Ceton is announcing and making available today a free new application with updated firmware that enables Network Tuners with their InfiniTV TV tuner products.

The only thing better than an HTPC with a CableCARD tuner is multiple HTPCs with multiple CableCARD tuners. ... now Ceton's stab at tuner sharing is officially available in the way of a Network Tuner setup Media Center plug-in. Once you upgrade the firmware of your InfiniTV 4 and install the app, you can launch it from within Media Center and easily configure which tuners will be used locally and which will be used remotely.

InfiniTV 4 USB CableCARD tuner hands-on

We ran into the Hammers from Ceton Corp at CES and they revealed their latest products to us; the InfiniTV 4 USB and the internal InfiniTV 6. The InfiniTV 6 is basically the six tuner version of the InfiniTV 4 that we like so much ... The more interesting revelation was that of the InfiniTV 4 USB ... it does record four HD shows at once like its internal brother, has a real nice feel to it, and looks really, really cool.

Ceton Announces 4 Tuner USB and 6 Tuner PCI-E CableCARD Tuners

Today at the Consumer Electronics Show, CES, Ceton announced two new products to compliment their existing four-tuner PCI-E card that we reviewed last year. First up is a four-tuner external USB device that should help to serve the segment of the Windows Media Center community who use small-form-factor devices, such as Acer Aspire Revos, or any other computer that doesn’t have an internal PCI-Express slot. Also announced today by the Kirkland, Washington based company was an internal six-tuner PCI-E card.
